The Proven Health Coach Success Formula
This formula stacks the marketing odds in your favor so you can stop struggling and start getting more clients
For years I worked in Manhattan. In the summer months, the city would often get doused by an unexpected downpour. Many people rushing to meetings and appointments were caught off guard – including me!
Every time the skies opened up, like magic, guys selling umbrellas popped up at almost every corner. Then as soon as the sun came back out, the umbrella guys disappeared.
I can’t tell you how many of those crappy umbrellas I gladly shelled out $10 for over the years!
Those men knew the most important part of sales success…
Get in front of an audience that’s motivated to buy.
That’s the key to selling umbrellas … and it’s the key to getting more health coaching clients, too.
When I started working with natural health professionals in 2017, they told me how frustrated they were. Many had invested a lot of time and money trying to get more clients. And many had bought programs, took workshops, and worked with coaches.
But whether they were in the earlier days of their businesses, or they were established and trying to scale, their marketing efforts weren’t paying off. And a lot of them were getting burned out in the process.
In fact, I recently heard that 95% of people who try to start a health coaching business fail. That’s awful! It’s awful for the coach … and it’s awful for the people they could have helped, too.
When I looked at what these coaches were doing, I saw a pattern. The problem could always be boiled down to one or more of these 3 things:
They didn’t have a clear audience
They didn’t have a compelling offer
They didn’t have strong messaging
I knew from my days as a marketing executive that those 3 things … audience, offer, and messaging … are THE essential ingredients to business success.
Without them, your marketing efforts will be a waste of time and money.
Audience + Offer + Messaging = Success
Health coaches that get this formula right, have a much higher rate of success. As I’ve found with my clients, it helps them feel more confident because they have a deeper understanding of the value they bring. And they can easily articulate what sets them apart. Many of them have gone on to build businesses they love.
One coach helped people restore knee strength and mobility after ACL surgery. He found the formula gave him the confidence he needed to double his prices. Within two months, he had his first $12,000 month
Another coach helped people with MS. Now she regularly makes $25k a month. She was so moved by her first year’s success that she posted on Facebook how she was able to give her daughters everything they wanted for Christmas for the first time ever
And another coach was in the completely saturated weight loss niche. By dialing in the key marketing ingredients, she was able to make $110,000 in just 4 months!
It’s a remarkably powerful formula. And when you know how to implement it, you stack the marketing odds in your favor.
This One Is THE Game-Changer
The audience is the most important part of the formula.
In fact, if your audience is motivated enough, you could have a mediocre offer and messaging and still have a good business. (That’s why it’s much easier to sell umbrellas during a downpour than it is when the sun is shining.)
Of course I recommend you have all 3 dialed-in … especially when you’re dealing with people’s health.
So how do you get in front of a highly motivated audience? With the right problem.
It's MUCH easier to get clients if your service helps people with a problem that makes them miserable.
Now you may be thinking, “But I can help people solve so many problems! I don’t know which one to choose!”
If that’s the case, you’re in luck. Because there are only 2 factors that determine what the best problem to focus on is. I’ll tell you about them next week.
