Once upon a time, before the boom of the digital age, radios had knobs. You’d turn them to change the station.
But if the knob wasn’t turned to exactly the right place, you’d hear static or crackling noises. The same thing would happen when you drove near the edge of the transmission signal.
Even though the crackling noise was unpleasant, there were times it didn’t matter. Like when Meatloaf’s Paradise By The Dashboard Light was on. My friends and I sang along through the static and crackle plenty of times because we loved the song so much!
The song was the “message” we wanted to hear. That was more important than how good it sounded.
It’s the same with your marketing.
What you say is more important than how you say it.
As a professional copywriter, I know a ton about writing. It was a big part of my training.
But the most important part of my training (and the thing my mentor spent the most time focusing on) had NOTHING at all to do with writing.
It was about messaging and how to create compelling ideas people would pay attention to.
Of course it’s best if you have both of them dialed in. But believe me, it doesn’t matter how good the writing is if people don’t care about the message.
That’s why “message” is one of the 3 ingredients in The Health Coach Success Formula™.
